Private meeting status for macOS

Know before you call.

Meeting Pulse tells one person when to call you. It watches the owner’s Mac for a meeting, then shares a small status through a private viewer.

In a meeting

No calendar event to maintain. No meeting title to publish. Just the answer someone needs before they ring.

Two surfaces, one answer

The owner app stays close. The viewer stays simple.

Meeting Pulse has a native macOS surface for the owner and a private browser viewer for the person checking in. They meet at one small, readable signal.

The workflow

Four quiet steps between “should I call?” and “go ahead.”

01

Detect locally

Meeting Pulse uses macOS Accessibility APIs to detect supported meeting states on the owner’s Mac.

02

Publish the smallest useful signal

The viewer gets an availability state and optional call-okay message, not a transcript of the meeting.

03

Check from a browser

A paired person opens a private link on a phone or laptop and reads the current state without an account.

04

Respect unavailable

If a signal is stale, uncertain, offline, or revoked, Meeting Pulse says so. It does not turn uncertainty into “available.”

Privacy by boundary

Permission for detection. Restraint for everything else.

Accessibility access lets the owner app understand supported call states. It does not turn Meeting Pulse into a window on the meeting.

  • Meeting titles, URLs, and participants stay out of the viewer.
  • Audio, video, screenshots, OCR, and screen contents are not uploaded.
  • No browser extension, Slack bot, OAuth, or calendar access is required.
  • The project is open source and MIT licensed.

Built for the in-between moment

Useful before it becomes another system to manage.

Keep the owner’s status close to the Mac. Give the viewer one link. When the signal is missing, say that plainly and let the person choose what to do next.

01 · Automatic

Detect a supported call without a calendar habit.

Google Meet in Chrome and native Slack Huddles are the first supported surfaces.

02 · Manual

Set Busy or Available when you need to take over.

Manual controls cover the moments that automatic detection cannot know.

Try the viewer

See the signal from the other side.

Open the live viewer in a browser tab. It loads without an account, reads the current state, and shows unavailable plainly when the owner’s signal is missing.

The viewer link is private. It only opens for a paired viewer. Pairing happens inside the owner app on macOS.
